The 12th All Ireland Undergraduate Conference (AICUR) was successfully held in person at the University of Limerick on Thursday, 3 April 2025. This prestigious event provided a platform for undergraduate students from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Ireland to present their research and highlight their academic achievements. This year’s theme, “Bridging Boundaries: Sharing Our Research Beyond the Discipline,” encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
We were delighted to welcome Jacqui Meskell from Huggnote.com as our keynote speaker, who inspired attendees with her insights into the importance of research in today’s world. The conference featured a diverse array of presentations, including research papers, lightning talks, and posters covering topics such as the James Webb Space Telescope’s Little Red Dots, the impact of social media on teenagers’ wellbeing, and the analysis of lung cancer data through innovative software applications.
The high calibre of research showcased at AICUR serves as a testament to the dedication and talent of undergraduate researchers. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed throughout the day were truly inspiring, indicating a bright future for academic research in Ireland. We extend our gratitude to all participants and look forward to the next AICUR in 2026, where we anticipate even more groundbreaking research and collaboration.
