Recognising Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Irish Higher Education
The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is developing a National Professional Recognition Framework for Teaching and Learning to support the recognition of teaching excellence across the sector. This document presents a discussion draft and invites feedback to guide the development of a robust, relevant, and inclusive framework.
Open Courses for Professional Development
A ‘one stop shop’ for those teachers in higher education who are interested in furthering their professional development. The range of open-access short courses available through the platform are the result of work by National Forum staff and by higher education colleagues across the sector. As such, this space reflects the collaborative commitment of the higher education community to ongoing professional development towards positive individual, institutional and sectoral change.
Generative Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning
This section provides an overview of current national efforts to understand and support the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) across Irish higher education. It brings together emerging practices, research, and policy developments related to GenAI in teaching, learning, and assessment. The space is part of an ongoing initiative led by the HEA in collaboration with sectoral partners, aimed at informing institutional responses and national policy.
