Overview
All staff who support student learning were invited to apply to the Learning Enhancement Project (LEP) fund, with a maximum budget of €2000 available per LEP. The LEP fund encourages research on innovative pedagogies that ultimately enhance learning and teaching. It supports transformational change in learning and teaching at UCC by supporting staff to develop their teaching and support of learning in innovative ways. The fund will support staff to develop new approaches to their teaching and will provide opportunities for developmental activities which enhance learning, teaching, and assessment in line with UCC’s Academic Strategy.
An open call across the university invited all who support student learning to apply to the Learning Enhancement Project (LEP) fund, with a maximum budget of €2000 available per LEP. Applications were invited in any field of learning and teaching practice. However, applicants were expected to demonstrate a clear alignment to one of more of the National Forum’s Strategic Priorities, and our Academic Strategy.
28 LEP applications were received from across the university, with 13 LEPs selected for funding following review by a selection panel. LEPs selected for funding were those with:
• alignment to one or more of the National Forum’s strategic priorities
• alignment to UCC’s Academic Strategy
• demonstrated innovation and impact
• strong potential to enhance student learning
• evidence of sustainability of the initiative
Ongoing support for funded LEPs will be available through a dedicated team in the Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning, including support for dissemination and reporting.
