This learning enhancement initiative sets out to support staff at different stages of their teaching career, in particular those who teach within a blended or online environment when designing assessments of, for, and as learning. Staff and students who teach and learn within online and blended contexts are faced with both constraints and opportunities which merit specific consideration when we seek to support staff who teach. A lack of synchronicity and co-location coupled with an often diverse cohort of learners means that there is a need for staff to have the technical and pedagogical knowledge required to design appropriate forms of assessment within this context. A key focus will be moving from traditional modes of assessment to more authentic approaches.
