UCC was delighted to host our annual Learning & Teaching Showcase on December 4th, 2025. The event opened with an insightful keynote delivered by Dr Catherine Cronin on “Higher Education towards 2030: what stories do we tell (ourselves) about who we are?” This was followed by a robust panel discussion in which Learning & Teaching representatives from across the institution reflected on their vision for the future of Higher Education.
Throughout the day, 90 posters highlighting teaching innovations and case studies of good practice were displayed, complemented by a series of oral presentations demonstrating the breadth and impact of Learning & Teaching initiatives across the university. SATLE-funded projects were also prominently featured through posters and presentations from awardees.
We were pleased to welcome HEA colleagues Colin Lowry and Imma Zoppi to the Showcase and are grateful to Colin for delivering the closing remarks.
The day concluded with the annual President’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching, followed by a parchment ceremony celebrating graduates of the Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL)’s Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education.
Outputs from the day including a copy of the keynote address will be available on the Showcase webpage.
