Spring sunshine welcomed the participants of the 2025 European University Association Learning & Teaching Forum held in UCC from 27-28 February. Co-hosted by the Office of the Vice-President for Learning and Teaching and the Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning, the event brought together delegates across the European Higher Education Area to consider the theme ‘2030 and beyond: towards responsive and adaptable higher education’.
More than 250 higher education professionals from four continents attended events on UCC’s historic campus. It attracted policy makers from a range of European and national bodies and the organisers were delighted to also welcome Minister James Lawless.
Through a mix of plenary sessions, workshops, and presentations, the Forum provides a platform for discussion and exchange of practice on how to develop future-readiness in Higher Education through learning and teaching The presentations are now available via a dedicated webpage and capture a range of practices responding to the conference theme. You can also access the reports from the 2024 Thematic Peer Groups which advance key topics relating to teaching and learning.
In addition to these sessions, delegates enjoyed the social programme including a guided tour of the Glucksman Gallery, a viewing of the Great Book of Ireland in the Library, a campus tour and a music lesson on the uilleann pipes. The Learning and Teaching Forum moves to the Catholic University of Portugal next year and please note 12-13 February 2026 in your diaries.
