The SPHE Network is a national network for those who are teaching or researching in this curriculum area (e.g. lecturers, teachers, post-graduate students). Founded in 2000, the SPHE Network draws members from colleges of education, universities, schools and support services at all education levels. Meetings are held 3-4 times a year to disseminate information, provide continuing professional development, and share research and innovations. Conferences are organised bi-annually on a topical SPHE-related theme.
Overview of Work:
1. The SPHE Network received some funding to produce a publication of conference proceedings arising from a recent (October 2014) conference entitled: Understanding Wellbeing in Changing Times: The Role of SPHE. Contributors at the conference were invited to submit an article after the conference, and first drafts are due in February 2015. This will be followed by an editing and design process overseen by an editorial committee drawn from the conference organisers who are all members of the
Network.
2. A small amount of funding was received to continue work on our SPHE Network website. This is due for a soft launch in mid- February, with an official launch to coincide with the publication of the conference proceedings later in the year.
