Dundalk Institute of Technology
This T&L initiative offers an opportunity to engage a wide range of staff and students to contribute to ‘grassroots’ enhancements that advance DkIT’s strategic priorities in learning and teaching. It seeks to build on our strong track record of using seed funding to initiate successful learning and teaching initiatives and enhancements.
To maximise the impact and increase the number and diversity of staff and students involved, we hope to support as many high quality initiatives as possible. The project will promote staff-student collaboration at a local level and allow DkIT to develop capacity in this.
The next stage will involve a call for LEP proposals with criteria focusing on:
• Alignment with National Forum and DkIT strategic priorities
• Impact on learning and the student experience
• Student involvement, particularly staff-student collaborations
• Encouraging those new to enhancement projects
To ensure involvement across the institute some funding will be ring-fenced for each academic School to support LEPs that address School priorities that meet the criteria. In addition, to maximise student engagement, funds will be earmarked to support:
• Student-led LEPs
• Learning Enhancement Scholarships to support students to work on LEPs in the area of Student Success
Workshops will be provided to support those considering applications. This will be particularly important for students and those new to enhancement projects. CELT will provide ongoing support and guidance, including monthly ‘coffee and catchups’. Proposals will be assessed by a panel including Registrar’s nominees, Student Union nominees and at least one external expert.
