Overview
This T&L initiative involves the development of a current level 7 integrated add-on programme to the existing level 6 Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies (PTS) in blended mode.
In response to changes in the role of Pharmacy Technicians in community and hospital pharmacy and the current consideration of regulation, principles of constructive alignment were used to design a level 7 integrated add-on programme to the existing level 6 Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies (PTS). The traditional face-to-face level 7 programme is designed in part-time and fulltime mode to allow participants to remain in employment throughout the programme while attending classes during the day.
A natural progression of the current traditional model that would maximise engagement and flexibility, is to use a pedagogically based Substantial Blended Learning Approach building on our existing digital expertise with online and face to face activities. Developing the suite of Level 7 programmes in a Blended Mode at this point in time, will ensure that we are future proofed to support future regulatory requirements and in a position to better support the learning of Pharmacy Technicians in a changing industry.
