DELTA Award Panel

The National Forum would now like to invite expressions of interest from the Irish higher education sector to participate on our DELTA Review Panels. The reviews will take place fully online. The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is Wednesday 14 September 2022.

The Disciplinary Excellence in Learning, Teaching and Assessment (DELTA) Award is presented to discipline groups who can demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching and learning enhancement and who commit to an ongoing, clearly articulated, shared process of continued enhancement. The DELTA Award process aims to facilitate recognition at a discipline level and to bring good practice to a wider audience, as an essential part of valuing teaching and learning within higher education communities.

The DELTA Awards:

  • Recognise, reward and celebrate those who have demonstrated a deep commitment to the enhancement of teaching and learning and supports their plans for future development and success.
  • Recognise the discipline team as a professional community which is operating in a specific institutional, national and international context.
  • Are designed to be flexible and adaptable so that they can be used by teams in a range of higher education settings and at various stages of teaching and learning enhancement.

DELTA Award applications are reviewed twice yearly with outcomes announced in March/April and November/December each year. It is intended that the review panel will consist of up to four national discipline specific teaching and learning experts, one international teaching and learning expert that will Chair the review and a student representative.
