Enhancement across Disciplines

The Unlock T&L initiative aims to harness the potential of learning analytics to support student success using student engagement.

The initiative will focus on four key elements:

1) Supporting academic units in identifying key areas for enhancing student success based on analysis of the relevant learning analytics, including the Irish Survey of Student Engagement (ISSE), Irish National Digital Experience Survey (INDEx), student transfer and progressions reports, student module and programme evaluations. LYIT will collaborate with IT Sligo and Galway Mayo Institute of Technology in the analysis of the ISSE data
2) Structured engagement with students to capture views on potential enhancement initiatives at module, programme and institutional level
3) Analysis of student responses within and across academic units. Recurrent and key themes will form the basis of staff-student focus groups tasked with co-designing Unlock initiatives supporting student success
4) Implementing and evaluating Unlock initiatives
