Exploring Interactive Oral Assessment – DCU Teaching Enhancement Unit Seminar

1st October @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Are you thinking about innovating your assessment practice? Are you looking for authentic assessment approaches which can preserve academic integrity, and promote skill development and student engagement? As part of our 2025 Teaching & Learning week, the DCU Teaching Enhancement Unit will host a seminar on Interactive Oral Assessments and their role in facilitating authenticity and sustaining integrity in the age of Gen AI. Danielle Logan Fleming (the pioneer of the IO model) will speak about the future potential of IOs in becoming programmatic anchors across degrees, ensuring graduate attributes are not only assessed but lived. Colleagues from DCU and a number of other HEIs will share their experiences of designing and implementing IOs within their practice. The seminar is an opportunity for colleagues across institutions to learn about IOs and how they can be implemented across disciplines as well as to gain an understanding of the evolving and innovative assessment landscape.
