The Virtual Labs, a collaborative initiative among five higher education institutions — Maynooth University, Technological University of the Shannon, Dublin City University, Dundalk Institute of Technology, and University College Cork
The Virtual Labs Team brings together five higher education institutions, MU,TUS, DCU, DkIT, and UCC. The Team, who are all working in bio/chemical sciences, was set up in 2020 to work on a HCI pillar 3 project dedicated to advancing a quality blended teaching and learning experience, which is designed to engage the modern student, and to embed transversal skills within our classes. The team is co-creating a lab-based curriculum for level 7, 8, and 9 programmes, informed by feedback from students, HEA staff, and enterprise partners. They are dedicated to sharing their findings and best practices across the sector to enhance the educational experience in bio/chemical sciences.
