The Higher Education Authority (HEA) invites contributions to the national initiative “Mapping Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Irish Higher Education.” As higher education explores the role of GenAI in teaching, learning, and assessment, this initiative aims to document current practices, innovative projects, research developments, and policy initiatives across higher education institutions in Ireland.
This initiative builds on the “Ten Considerations for Generative AI Adoption“, developed collaboratively with stakeholders across education, industry, and related agencies in late 2024. The current phase involves gathering real-world examples of engagement with GenAI to inform a comprehensive national report, scheduled for publication in 2025, and a publicly accessible national database highlighting ongoing activities and innovations.
Staff involved in teaching, learning, research, and academic support are invited to share their insights and experiences. Contributions will create a detailed picture of the opportunities and challenges associated with GenAI, supporting informed practices and policies, and fostering collaboration throughout the higher education sector.
Submissions can be made through the online submission form: https://bit.ly/mappingai
