The Higher Education Authority (HEA) has today opened a national consultation to inform a renewed strategy for teaching and learning in higher education. This follows the formal establishment of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education as a sustainable entity under the auspices of the HEA in 2022.
Established in 2012, the National Forum acted as the national body responsible for leading and advising on the enhancement of teaching and learning in Irish higher education. In partnership with students, staff and leaders, the National Forum has fostered an inclusive, collaborative and innovative culture aimed at maximising learning impact for the success of all students. During these years, the National Forum achieved several key milestones, supporting the sector to build capacity in teaching and learning across the higher education system and elevating the profile of teaching and learning as a strategic priority for higher education institutions.
Following its establishment under the auspices of the HEA, it is timely to renew the strategy for teaching and learning in higher education. Stakeholders are encouraged to participate in this consultation and share their perspectives to help shape the future of teaching and learning excellence in higher education.
The consultation is open until 24 January 2025. Visit the link below to participate
