The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is excited to announce a new call inviting expressions of interest for the development of Open Courses. This initiative represents a significant opportunity for higher education institutions and organisations across Ireland to contribute to a national project aimed at driving innovation and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning.
Open Courses, accessible at https://opencourses.ie, is a strategic initiative for professional development in higher education. Flexible and innovative short courses align with the National Professional Development Framework, offering non-accredited professional development opportunities to those who teach in higher education. To date, the initiative has issued over 5,000 digital badges and trained over 600 facilitators across various professional development opportunities.
Interested parties are invited to submit proposals for new course development, updating existing courses, or large-scale course delivery. Successful proposals can receive funding up to €20,000. This call particularly encourages cross-institution collaborations that align with national strategic priorities and reach a wide national audience.
This invitation opens a unique opportunity for institutions and colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of teaching and learning in Ireland.
