The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and the Higher Education Authority (HEA) announced today that Dr Lynn Ramsey has stepped down as a member of the HEA board and as Chair of the National Forum’s Teaching and Learning Committee as she commences her new role as Director of the Teaching Council on February 1, 2023.
Dr Ramsey has been a dedicated member of the National Forum and the HEA for several years, and her contributions to teaching and learning in Ireland have been invaluable. During her tenure as Chair of the National Forum Teaching and Learning Committee, Dr Ramsey played a key role in shaping the National Forum’s strategy, making significant contributions to the advancement of teaching and learning in higher education.
Michael Horgan, Chairperson of the HEA, commented on Dr Ramsey’s contributions, saying, “Lynn has been a passionate advocate for teaching and learning in higher education and her contributions to the National Forum and the HEA have been invaluable. We are sorry to see her go but wish her the very best in her new role as Director of the Teaching Council.”

The HEA will announce a new chair for the National Forum Teaching and Learning Committee following the appointment in March. The new chair will lead the development of a new strategy that reflects the heightened importance of teaching and learning in the national higher education landscape and its crucial role in the work and mandate of the Higher Education Authority.
