The National Forum is delighted to welcome the news that its Patron, Mary McAleese, is to be appointed as Chancellor of Trinity College Dublin. The Chancellor is the Head of the University and presides at meetings of the University Senate, overseeing important ceremonial occasions such as commencement ceremonies when degrees are awarded. The role of Chancellor of the University was held since 1998 by Mary Robinson, also former President of Ireland.
The Board of the National Forum extend heartfelt congratulations to Prof McAleese, who has served as Patron of the National Forum since its establishment in 2012.
