Dr Fiona O’Riordan (BABS; MBS; M.Ed; Ed.D) is Head of the Centre for Promoting Academic Excellence in Griffith College. In this role she works closely with lecturers supporting them in their pedagogical practice and professional development. To this end she provides targeted and bespoke workshops across the academic year and is runs the MA in Training and Education with embedded awards – PG Dip in Training and Education, and Special Purpose Certificate in Training and Education. Fiona is a founding member and conference committee member for the International Conference for Engaging Pedagogy (ICEP); current Chair of EDIN (Educational Developers in Ireland Network); Associate Member of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education; and HECA (Higher Education Colleges Association) Teaching and Learning Committee member. She is a regular contributor and invited guest at external workshops and conferences. In addition, Fiona has sat on numerous external programme validation panels, as a teaching and learning expert.  Her research areas include engaging pedagogy; the voice of educators; and curriculum development.
