Event Details:
The main focus of this workshop / seminar is to explore current approaches for identifying at-risk‚ students through a facilitator-led workshop and identify implementation strategies for participants to take away with them. The objective is to engage with academic staff of third level institutions and some final year undergraduate students from ITT Dublin and possibly other colleges, with the aim of including the views of students as to what they feel is beneficial for retention.
An expert will present on the area of retention in the early years of Engineering programmes. They will discuss how peer learning can enhance students‚ third level education and ultimately prepare students for the social and technical complexities of engineering practice.
There will be an opportunity for educators to discuss the implementation and evaluation of novel learning techniques
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this session the participants shall be able to;
- Formulate recommended implementation strategies
- Execute strategies
- Gather useful retention metrics data
- Analyse retention data and track performance
