Dr Alison Farrell joined Maynooth University in 2001 as Teaching Development Officer in the Centre for Teaching and Learning.  She is the founding chair of the Educational Developers in Ireland Network (EDIN) and of the Irish Network for the Enhancement of Writing (INEW).  Currently, she is Principal Investigator and Management Committee Chair of the European COST Action WeReLaTe which is exploring frontier taxonomies and institutional synergies across writing, research, learning and teaching.  In January 2019 she took up a position with the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education as Senior Lead for Sectoral Engagement.  Her research interests include academic writing, collaboration, professional development, and institutional policy and power in higher education.
