The “Volunteering and Student-led Engagement Working Group” is one of four Campus Engage networks that encourages good practice and building capacity to support the management of quality student volunteering opportunities for learning. The Working Group has developed an online tool, StudentVolunteer.ie to provide an online resource to connect students and community groups, charities, schools, hospitals, public bodies and NGOs across Ireland. StudentVolunteer.ie is funded by each higher education member institution and Campus Engage, hosted at the IUA. Our network is committed to enhancing students’ extra-curricular experiences and researching the impact of this informal learning environment for retention, student health, wellbeing, skill building and social connection.
