The Library Association of Ireland (LAI) is the professional body representing libraries and librarianship in Ireland. The Career Development Group is a sub- section of the LAI which works with existing library & information professionals and new graduates who are seeking professional development within the library sector.
We create opportunities for members to partake in professional development activities. We provide a link for employers and potential employees or interns within the profession. We liaise with both Education Committees (Professional Standards and CPD) to identify ways to support their work particularly in the area of internships, LIS volunteering and mentoring programmes.
The L2L Joint Digital Badge PACT Commitment to Professional Development is an initiative aimed at librarians who teach or those seeking teaching roles. The first course will commence in October 2021.
