SUMMARY:Thinking with Things: harnessing Creativity for Teaching and Learning
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will incorporate hands-on and arts-based/maker approaches to teaching and learning. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Briony Supple\, Senior Lecturer\, Design Thinking Pedagogy and Praxis\, School of Education\, in collaboration with a number of artists\, faculty members and students from the PG Diploma in Innovation through Design Thinking program at UCC. \nHands-on\, tactile and creative practices will be used as a tool for participants to harness as a way of reflecting on themselves as educators and the experiences of their students. Participants will be introduced to the concept of ‘artistic thinking’ and examples of good practice in integrating creative mindsets into teaching and learning will be showcased.
