It provides is an opportunity to learn from one another\, get a flavour of Moodle activity taking place across various regions\, chew the fat\, digest interesting developments and munch on ideas! \nIn keeping with Moodle’s mission to empower educators\, each webinar explores Moodle innovations and stories that support the development of educators’ competencies on the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu). \nThe community is facilitated by Rob Lowney (rob.lowney@dcu.ie) – reach out if you have any questions!

SUMMARY:Teagasc agus Foghlaim na Gaeilge in DCU (event open to DCU staff only)
DESCRIPTION:This face to face one-day event will enable Irish language lecturers at DCU to share their teaching experiences with their colleagues and facilitate internal strategic discussions on how teaching and learning can be strengthened and valued in Fiontar agus Scoil na Gaeilge. One of Ireland’s leading Irish language curriculum-development experts\,  Éamonn Ó Dónaill will give a presentation on the importance of the syllabus and will facilitate the sessions on teaching and learning. Dr Colin Flynn\, (Fiontar agus Scoil na Gaeilge) applied linguist and author of “Foghlaim an Dara Teanga” will discuss recent research in minority language acquisition. Round-table discussions on formative assessment\, online learning\, motivation in language students and reflection on students’ feedback will take place in the afternoon. \nFocus of the event \n\nStrategic institutional discussions about the place of teaching and learning within local policy and decision-making and how the value of teaching and learning can be strengthened\nSharing and valuing ongoing teaching and learning enhancement work\nConsidering how the relational\, structural\, practical or policy aspects of teaching and learning can be valued\, supported and recognised\nGathering views and experiences from those who learn\, teach and/or lead on the shift to online/remote learning and considering what has been learned for the future about how teaching and learning can/should be valued\n\nTo register for this event please contact the organiser Gearóidín Uí Laighléis gearoidin.uilaighleis@dcu.ie \n
