SUMMARY:National UDL Online Workshops - Workshop Three: Inclusive Module Design Review
DESCRIPTION:The HE Universal Design for Learning Centre for Excellence at Atlantic Technological University is proud to present a series of online workshops led by national experts. This series will be available to all higher education staff throughout Ireland. Through this\, we hope to bring colleagues together and contribute to the national conversation around accessibility and inclusivity at HEIs. \nThere will be three workshops altogether\, each covering a unique angle and led by national experts in their field. You can register for all workshops individually. Please take a look at the details workshop three: \nA national UDL leader\, Lecturer Maureen Haran\, PhD(c)\, SFHEA\, manages the UDL Centre of Excellence at Atlantic Technological University. Maureen works with educational development teams to design and implement inclusive education practices at regional and national levels. She is the programme chair and Lecturer on the Post Graduate Certificate/ MA in UDL. Maureen has worked as an educator in both the Irish and American public education systems for over 18 years and has been an education reformer in working with educational development teams in both countries to design and implement inclusive education practices. She is undertaking her PhD in the field of education with the focus of implementing UDL through a cross campus approach. Maureen continues to work on inclusive education initiatives by leading the continuous professional development of academic staff and actively works on nationally funded projects on Universal Design for Learning implementation within the third level sector. \nShelley Brady holds a PhD from Ulster University. Her research explores the impact of inclusive teaching on student success and the student experience\, digital tools and student empowerment. She has worked in the area of disability since 2002. Throughout that time\, she has been a consultant\, associate fellow and lecturer across a wide range of settings and services. Shelley is currently the manager of the Disability Services in ATU Sligo. She is passionate about creating inclusive education for skill development and employment accessible to all.
