SUMMARY:Internationalising the curriculum for student success
DESCRIPTION:We live in an increasingly globalised world that brings with it a myriad of complexities and opportunities.  The challenge of preparing students to participate fully in such an environment is more relevant than ever. This seminar by renowned expert in the area of internationalisation of higher education\, Professor Elspeth Jones\, will focus on ways to internationalise the curriculum and will enable participants to: \nLearning Outcomes:\n\nAppraise how internationalising the curriculum can support success for all students throughout and beyond their studies\nEvaluate approaches to curriculum internationalisation in different national and institutional contexts\nIdentify new approaches to internationalising the curriculum within an Irish context\nPlan for institutional integration of curriculum internationalisation within disciplines\n\nPresenter: Emerita Professor Elspeth Jones (Leeds Beckett University) and editor of Internationalization in Higher Education series\, Routledge is Emerita Professor of the Internationalisation of Higher Education\, Leeds Beckett University and Honorary Visiting Fellow\, Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI)\,Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore\, Milan.  She has undertaken work for universities around the world and for organisations including the European Commission\, European Parliament\, British Council\, European Association for International Education (EAIE)\, and IEAA Australia. Her specialisms include personal\, professional and employability outcomes from international mobility and internationalisation of curriculum at home. She has published widely\, is founding series editor of Internationalization in Higher Education (Routledge) and winner of the EAIE Award for Excellence in Research. \nLunch will be provided for attendees at 1pm.
