DESCRIPTION:International Online Knowledge Exchange (Thursday 11 January 2024\, 14:30 – 16:15 CET / 13:30 – 15:15 Dublin Time) \nZoom Videoconference (click here to register) \nThe OECD and the European Commission (EC) have joined efforts to establish an Education and Innovation Practice Community (EIPC). The EIPC seeks to boost dialogue and advance understanding of the competencies that help to trigger and shape innovation for the digital and green transitions\, as well as “deep tech” innovation\, as foreseen under the New European Innovation Agenda of the EC\, Flagship 4: Fostering\, attracting and retaining deep tech talent (europa.eu). This webinar will examine how higher education institutions\, in their role as providers of advanced education and skills\, are adapting mainstream degree programmes to build and deepen the competencies needed for digital\, green\, and deep-tech innovation. SUMMARY:Rethinking Assessment: Inclusive Assessment and Standards in a Dynamic and Changing World
DESCRIPTION:QQI in partnership with AHEAD and the Disability Advisors Working Network (DAWN) are hosting an event to explore how to make assessment practices in further and higher education more inclusive of all students. Participants will hear from leading national and international experts in the field\, explore challenges posed by an increasingly diverse population and the need for inclusive assessment at scale\, and through dialogue and feedback\, contribute to the development of national QQI-endorsed principles for inclusive assessment. Assessment\, Quality and Access professionals – we need your voice in this conversation! \nIn relation to this event and work stream\, QQI\, AHEAD and DAWN are seeking: \n\nCase studies of good practice in inclusive assessment at the individual\, programme\, departmental or institutional level – read the call and submit short text or video case study by March 8th. DESCRIPTION:The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education are delighted to announce that the fully online Open Course\, Enabling Student Volunteering\, will run from June 2024. This course has been developed in partnership with Student Volunteer Ireland\, see www.studentvolunteer.ie for more details. \nThis free 4-week course is available to all staff currently working in tertiary education in the Republic of Ireland\, subject to availability of places. Additional facilitator training is included so that you can become a facilitator of this course and run it in your own institution. DESCRIPTION:A national event informing the strategic development of open education in teaching and learning across Ireland’s higher education sector \nMunster Technological University\, Bishopstown Campus\nWednesday\, 20 May 2026\, 10.00AM – 4.30PM \nAbout the Event\nThis national event brings together colleagues from across Ireland’s higher education sector to explore current priorities and emerging practices in open education . It is framed in response to the HEA Strategy for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education\, which identifies open education as a strategic enabler of collaboration\, innovation\, and inclusive access across the sector. \nThe Strategy places particular emphasis on strengthening collaboration\, sustaining and expanding the National Resource Hub\, and supporting the development of institutional open education policies and practices. This event offers a structured opportunity for institutions to engage directly with those priorities\, to reflect on progress to date\, share practice\, and contribute to the coordinated development of open educational resources (OER) and open educational practices (OEP) in line with the Strategy. \nThe programme will include a keynote address\, sectoral case studies\, and interactive workshops.
