In recent years assessment criteria and standards are demanding sharper focus and the An Chomhairle Múinteoireachta ( the Teaching Council)  now requires Irish language teachers to provide evidence of achieving a minimum level of B2.2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in their degrees. This seminar will support language competency assessors in applying the Framework standards to their evaluation methods to ensure that graduates have verifiable evidence of the B2 minimum standard. By working with a leading practitioner in the field and  through engagement with peers\, both locally and nationally\, participants in the seminar will enhance their own assessment competence to ensure rigour and reliability in their own work practices.\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n\nAt the end of the event attendants will:\ngain insight into diverse and innovative methods of  assessment of linguistic skills\nunderstand the criteria for various grades in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages\nbuild links with colleagues in the community of practice\nbe motivated to assess their own work practices
