DESCRIPTION:\nThe Shannon Consortium's Take 1 Step TEL Week Roadshow No 3  at Mary Immaculate College from 9.30-17.00. \n\n\n-\n\n\nWho am I Online? \n\n\n \n\n\nThis workshop will explore participants’ online identity. It will examine the best ways to manage one’s online presence so as to ensure the optimum digital footprint and it will raise awareness of the importance of online safety.\n\n\n \n\n\n-Avoiding flopping while flipping in the 3rd Level Classroom: Reflections and lessons learned-\n\n\n \n\n\nThis session will present a case study of flipping the classroom and will give insights into the lessons that were learned in the process.\n\n\n \n\n\n-Mind Mapping: Different approaches & tools\n\n\n \n\n\nIn this session\, three users of mind mapping as an aid to cognitive processing and planning in three different contexts will come together. One presenter looks at the use of mind-mapping in the context of workflow planning in computer systems\, another presenter will talk about using mind-mapping in the thesis planning and the third presenter showcases the use of mindmapping tools in the context of assistive technology.\n\n\n \n\n\n-Online teaching and learning: Merging experiences and perspectives from 'both sides of the fence' \n\n\n \n\n\nIn this presentation\, a lecturer and student from an online Masters course will give both of their perspectives on what it is like to be a teacher and a student in the virtual classroom. The sharing of both sides of the online classroom experience brings mutually beneficial outcomes and learning opportunities for this relatively new learning space.\n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n
