Seminar Description

This seminar is the first of two linked seminars on the TESTA assessment project, jointly coordinated by TCD and UCD. For convenience TCD is leading this seminar, whilst UCD is leading seminar 2 on enabling assessment change through the TESTA methodology. Whilst attendance at both seminars is recommended, the seminars are designed to be stand-alone.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop participants will:

  1. Understand the TESTA principles, methodology and process, including theoretical background, and research methodology
  2. Understand the need to take a programme approach to assessment, to achieve a full range of assessments across a programme, and to balance assessment of, for and as, learning
  3. Have examined data from 8 TESTA programmes and related this to their own programme experience
  4. Understand how to analyse the data to create a narrative about the student experience on the whole programme

Programme Leaders, Module Coordinators; Programme Deans; Directors of Undergraduate Teaching & Learning; Education Developers; anyone with an interest in curriculum and/or assessment design.
