Academic-Practice Learning Partnership as a Gateway to Education Opportunities

26th March 2021

Learning Objectives

• To develop a greater understanding and awareness of how training managers in organisations make decisions around academic programme engagement for relevant staff
• To provide training managers with an insight in to how faculty determine participant suitability for academic programmes and make decisions around acceptance
• To establish good practices with regard to creating enduring working relationships between training managers and relevant faculty with a view to mutually beneficial outcomes
• To stimulate the development and refinement of blended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and executive programmes, particularly in light of the ‘new ways of working’ (National Skills Strategy 2025) and ‘new ways of learning’ that have evolved within academia and practice during the Covid-19 pandemic
• To evaluate and develop a better understanding of the technological challenges and opportunities associated with creating these relationships in a socially distant and increasingly uncertain world, and how these criteria can be optimised in pursuit of a sustainable Academic-Practice CPD Model
